What is the difference between "air" and "gel"? Does any brand of GEL shoe have the same technology, and would they all do the same job?

The difference between Air (used by Nike) and Gel (used by Asics), is that Air is a gas confined within an airbag and gel is a gel substance that is a solid but very soft.

They both dampen the shock that comes up through the shoes into your legs at impact when running or walking.

The amount of Air or Gel within each shoe can differ depending on the model and it can either be placed in the heel and/or forefoot, again, depending on the model.

Your Shoe Clinic technician can also determine which shoe will work best for your particular foot type, through doing a free footscan analysis.
