The Shoe Clinic Experience - why coming into a Shoe Clinic store is beneficial for your feet
You are unique. Your feet and your running style are unique. At Shoe Clinic there are over 100 different models from the world's finest sport shoe brands. Each model has particular technical features designed for differing physiological needs. There is a pair that's just right for you and your running or walking style.
If you are unsure of what pair of shoes is the correct pair for you, we recommend that you come into one of our 18 Shoe Clinic stores throughout New Zealand and let one of our highly trained technicians help you find that perfect pair of shoes. The fitting process that you go through when purchasing in-store is second to none and this is why Shoe Clinic believes if you have any doubt at all, take the time to come in and get fitted.
"Feet are very individual, and in a perfect world each shoe would be custom made. The technology used by Shoe Clinic is exactly what is needed to ensure that each individual is fitted with the best shoe for their feet." James Baxter, podiatrist to the All Blacks.
Each Shoe Clinic Footwear Technician completes six modules of learning covering topics such as; foot anatomy, biomechanics, gait analysis, fitting sports shoes, footwear product knowledge, and biomechanical and medical conditions. Lisa Whiteman, a Wellington podiatrist with many years clinical experience, visits all stores and trains our staff on a regular basis.
You'll be asked a few questions and to do some simple tests such as running across the sensor pad of the Footscan Computer (an Adidas designed system) so a digital print is produced of your foot as it lands. This indicates the anatomy of your foot, the pressure points and your biomechanical running style. Shoe Clinic specialists will give an expert assessment and prescribe the ideal shoe for your personal characteristics. This means your sports shoes work with your feet and running style and not against them.
